Appen Media Candidate Q&A
Same ten questions. Two very different answers. Only one candidate named a number: hold the millage rate at 8.87.
Mo Ivory went after your property taxes three times on the commission. Eric Tatum is committing to hold the line, staff the Board of Assessors so the highest-value properties pay their share, and fix the jail under the consent decree instead of billing you for it.
Read both answers side by side. The contrast makes the choice easy.

ClassE News with Erik Harmon - May 11 (3:40)
Eric Tatum: inflation ran about 20 percent over five years. Fulton's spending ran about 30. I want a resolution capping budget growth at CPI.
On the jail, it does not matter how big you build it until the policies and the accountability change. Government cannot throw money at a problem and expect it to go away.
Fulton County Board of Commissioners - September 2 (48:37)
Eric Tatum: our tax bills went out late, and taxpayers paid attorneys to get a court order just to fix it. Residents deserve accountability and competence, plus a guarantee it never happens again.
THE REAL DANA - September 22 (0:00)
A full hour with Eric Tatum on what is actually happening in Fulton County: the federal consent decree at the jail, where your property tax dollars go, and why his opponent's campaign finance filings carry a "do not file this copy" watermark.
Restoring trust, securing our future.
Roswell City Council - September 28 (2:13:13)
Residents stood up against the tax increase. One spoke for it. Eric Tatum kept the count himself and read it back to the council.
"A government can only spend that which it takes from its citizens. Will this body follow the will of the majority of the people, or will it do what it wants?"
He does not just talk about taxes on the campaign trail. He takes the podium in his own city and says it to their faces.
Fulton County Board of Commissioners - October 7 (1:25:32)
For most families their home is their single most valuable asset, and in Fulton, homes are being stolen outright through deed fraud. The county’s answer so far is a notice in the mail.
Eric Tatum told the commission that an alert is not enough. When a property is fraudulently transferred, the victim faces enormous legal costs, years of uncertainty, and the loss of generational wealth, with no clear answer on who investigates or who helps them get it back.
He asked for a comprehensive study: how many cases have been reported, how each one was handled, what methods are being used, where the system is failing, who is being targeted, and, where the law allows, who is responsible. Not a guess. The data.
Victims deserve a government that responds, helps them recover what was stolen, and holds the people behind it accountable to the fullest extent of the law.
ClassE News with Erik Harmon - May 10 (0:00)
Eric Tatum: the sheriff's budget is the single biggest line item in Fulton County, up from roughly $160 million in 2022 to nearly $240 million, plus a $50 million jail budget, and every dollar comes from the taxpayer.
Matching a check to a vendor is not an audit. We need boots on the ground confirming we actually got the services we paid for.
Fulton County Board of Commissioners - September 16 (50:18)
Eric Tatum: two of Mo Ivory's filings show a "do not file this copy" watermark, with no filing stamp and no signature, and two other disclosures are missing entirely. The public deserves an explanation, on the record.
War Room Georgia - September 23 (53:08)
Eric Tatum on data centers: they hire big to build, then employ almost nobody, and they still collect the tax abatements. Those breaks belong with grocery stores, manufacturers, and businesses that actually put Fulton residents to work.
On property taxes: I will not vote to raise the millage rate in my first budget.
WTQ - Insist on Truth - September 23 (0:00)
Mo Ivory voted to raise your property taxes three times. Eric Tatum has committed, on the record, not to raise the millage rate.
120 residents packed the commission room to say no to a millage hike and not one asked for the increase. One candidate listened. The other kept asking for more.
